Thomas Munro is based in Wellington, New Zealand. He is a PostgreSQL major contributor and committer.
His contributions to PostgreSQL so far include Parallel Hash Join, SERIALIZABLE isolation for parallel queries, various parallel query infrastructure, FOR UPDATE SKIP LOCKED, remote_apply, replay_lag, parts of trigger transition tables, and many smaller things. Before becoming an open source database hacker, he worked on proprietary C++, Unix, database and network projects in the finance and software industries for many years. Other open sources interests include the FreeBSD operating system, a very fine place to run your PostgreSQL databases.
